Kaohsiung night market – Taiwan

I had the chance to visit Taiwan a few weeks before typhoon Soudelor.  My first outing was at the Ruifeng night market, one of the largest in Kaohsiung.   The market is a feast for the eyes and the palate, with dozens of exotic foods, colors and shapes.

What impressed me the most, though, were the simple games that young kids enjoyed playing.  No electronics, no LEDs: fishing plastic ducks and kicking glass marbles…games I had not seen in… well… 50 years!  There is something hopeful in seeing young kids enjoying simple things…
